Students Catch "Campus Transit" To Get Across Campus

Campus Transit Operations, is the division of Transportation & Parking Services that provides transportation services throughout the UCSC campus. Bus and disabled transportation services are provided on a no-fare basis; these services are supported by the Student Transit Fee.

The Campus Transit system operates three daytime routes – The Loop, the Day Core, and Upper Campus and three nighttime routes – the Night Perimeter, the East Night Core and the West Night Core. Campus Transit buses can be identified by their slug logos.

We suggest, whenever possible, that students, staff, and faculty travel around campus by bus, or by walking or biking.

Campus Transit Operations also provides the UCSC– Fremont BART Connector and the UCSC Bike Shuttle.

The Disability Van Service, our on-campus van service for those with mobility impairments, is also part of TAPS Campus Transit Operations.

2009 TAPS Transit Schedules

Fall quarter night transit service starts on Saturday, September 19, 2009. Night transit routes are the Night Perimeter, and the East and West Night Core routes. Fall quarter day transit service starts on Monday, September 21, 2009. Day transit routes are the Loop (now with service until 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; until 5:30 p.m. on Friday) and the Day Core.

UCSC Bike Shuttles Begin Fall Service Schedules on Monday, 9/21/09

TAPS operates bike shuttles from two Santa Cruz locations; from Olive Street, next to the Mission Street CVS Store, and from the UCSC Inn on Ocean Street at Dakota Street, on weekday mornings; no fare is required to ride.

Cyclists can load their bicycles on the trailer and catch a ride on the shuttle van to campus and enjoy the cycle down in the afternoon.
