About TAPS Disability Van ServiceDVS provides on–campus wheelchair lift–equipped
transportation for those unable to use the regular Campus TAPS requires students to have a doctor's note as medical justification for use of the Disability Van Service (DVS). UCSC students can get medical justification, if warranted, at the Student Health Services (SHS) and can request transportation by the DVS to the SHS for the initial evaluation. Students with UCSHIP insurance or with the CruzCare access plan can be seen at the SHS for a visit for illness or injury without any fees. Additionally, students without campus insurance can be seen by the triage nurse, who may be able to provide medical justification, without any fees. Fees would be incurred at the SHS for students without campus insurance if there is a need for further evaluation by clinicians at the SHS.
