Visitor & Guest Parking Information

Visitor Parking Permits

As of March 4, 2013, visitors and guests may purchase a temporary 1-Day permit from the Main Entrance Kiosk located on Coolidge Drive (map of location), between the hours of 7:00am and 1:00pm, Monday through Friday. From 1:00pm to 5:00pm all permits must be purchased at the TAPS Sales Office located in the H Barn.

One-Day temporary permits cost $6.00; One-Night parking permits cost $3.00. Visitors that want to purchase temporary permits for more than one day (for up to a maximum of three consecutive days), must do so at the TAPS Sales Office in the H Barn (map). Sales Office hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. A picture ID is required at the time of purchase. If you know the campus location you plan to visit, send an email inquiry in advance of your visit to obtain more information on guest and visitor parking availability for a specific area.

Arranging Parking for Guests and Visitors

If your guest is scheduled to arrive after 8:00 p.m. you will need to call the Main Entrance Kiosk (831/459-3377) to request that your guest's name be placed on the Campus Security after hours admittance list.

Campus departments expecting 10 or more vehicles needing to obtain parking permits at the Main Gate Kiosk must notify Event Parking Services or complete the on-line event notification form, in advance, to arrange event parking.

Campus units expecting less than 10 vehicles may arrange for guest parking in advance by contacting the TAPS Sales Office at 831/459-4543. The following conditions apply:

  • Departments ordering guest or temporary permits may pay by recharge.

  • Guests may pick-up pre-paid guest parking permits at the Main Entrance Kiosk from 7:00am to 4:00pm on weekdays (effective March 4, 2013, the Kiosk will close at 4:00pm), if prearranged by departments.

  • Units wishing to leave guest permit(s) for issuance at the Main Entrance Kiosk or at the TAPS Sales Office must provide an advance written request and instructions to the TAPS Sales Office during business hours.

  • Departments expecting their guests to pay for a permit should advise the guest in advance of the cost of the permit. The cost is $6.00 per day or $3.00 per night, Monday through Friday, for a guest parking permit.

Parking Reciprocity

Guests and visitors from other UC campuses may be eligible for parking reciprocity when visiting UC Santa Cruz.
