Off-Campus Parking Lots

UCSC prefers that students who are not eligible to purchase an on-campus parking permit not bring vehicles to Santa Cruz unless advance arrangements for paid long-term parking off-campus are made. Residential streets near campus and in downtown Santa Cruz have strictly enforced parking permit requirements managed by the City of Santa Cruz Permit Parking Program.

A good option for off-campus parking is offered by the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Information and an online application are available. Please contact the Beach Boardwalk at 831/423-5590 prior to submitting an application.

The City of Santa Cruz offers off campus long-term parking at Depot Park for $125 per quarter. Depot Park is located near downtown Santa Cruz, just a short walk to a Santa Cruz Metro bus stop where students can catch a bus to campus. Applications are available at the Santa Cruz City Parking Office, 124 Locust St. (office is in the front of the Locust Street Parking Garage). For more information call 831/420-6100.

The following churches located on High Street, close to campus, offer parking Monday through Friday by purchasing a quarterly or annual permit from the church office. Please phone the contact person listed for additional information.

First Congregational Church - Winter and Spring 2013 parking still available -- $350.00 for parking through the end of spring quarter. The parking lot is just over one block from the UCSC Main Entrance. 73 long-term overnight parking spaces are offered for UCSC students. Detailed information and applications are available on the FCC Santa Cruz parking web site. Daytime commuter parking is also offered at a quarterly or annual rate to UCSC staff. Parking hours - Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Email inquiries are welcome.

High Street Community Church - The parking lot is approximately 2 blocks from the UCSC Main Entrance, at 850 High Street. Annual parking for 24 hours 6 days a week (Monday through Saturday) is offered for $500 for the year, or $200 per quarter (pro-rated if the permit is purchased in the middle of a quarter). Students are required to move their cars on Sundays as a courtesy to the congregation. 60 permits are offered on a first come, first served basis. HSCC is currently accepting applications. Presbyterian Church - This is a weekday commuter lot only; no overnight or weekend parking is offered. Cost - $50 per quarter, up to 40 spaces Hours - Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Call Amy at 831/423-8770.

Messiah Lutheran Church - This is a weekday commuter lot only; no overnight or weekend parking is offered. Cost - $200 annually for the period of 7/1 through 6/30. Hours - Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Call 831/423-8330 Monday through Wednesday to apply for one of 50 parking permits.
