Generally permits are not required to park in most campus lots on Saturday and Sunday, as long as you park in a legal parking space and do not block emergency access, and do not park in spaces that are posted and reserved for special use. Parking lots that currently require a permit to park on weekends are:
Performing Arts (Lot 126): Permits are required from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Those attending Performing Arts events may purchase a permit from parking lot attendants when present, or purchase an event parking permit for $3 from one of the two paystations located in the Performing Arts parking lot 126. Paystations accept coins, bills and credit cards, and the UCSC ParkCard. ParkCards must be purchased at the TAPS Sales Office during weekday business hours.
Porter (Lot 124 and 125), and Cowell/Stevenson (Lot 107, 108, 109, and 110): Permits are required from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Paystations located in these lots dispense permits for parking after 4:30pm on weekdays, and all day on weekends. The cost is a flat rate of $3, which buys a permit that is valid from 4:30pm until 7am the next morning on weekdays, or all day (and until 7am the next morning) on weekends. These permits are only valid in the parking lots near the paystations (except Stevenson Lot 108); view a map showing the paystations and the lots they serve.
Permits are required 24/7, including holidays, in all Family Student Housing parking lots and in all apartment parking lots including Crown/Merrill Apartments, Kresge East Apartments, and Graduate Student Apartments.
Social Sciences (Lots 164, 165, and 166): Permits are required 24/7.
Note: Those wishing to access McHenry Library on Saturday and Sunday may park for free (on weekends only) in the Core West Parking Structure or in Hahn Lot 101.
