UCSC Night Owl Description

Night Owl service goes from the UCSC campus to downtown Santa Cruz every 20 minutes from 11:30pm-2:10am on Friday and Saturday nights during the academic quarters. A valid UCSC ID must be presented to board.

Night Owl Route and Timetable
Night Owl buses loop through campus, head down Bay Street, go past the wharf and Santa Cruz Beach/Boardwalk area, and drop off (and pick up) passengers downtown next to Old School Shoes on Cathcart at Pacific, across from the University Town Center. They return to the campus via Laurel Street, Mission Street, and Bay Street.

Buses stop at all off-campus Metro bus stops along the route, and at Loop bus stops on campus. Most buses travel through campus in a counterclockwise (east to west) direction; however, two to three routes each night travel in a clockwise direction. On Friday nights, the buses leaving downtown at 12:30 and 1:30 travel through campus in a clockwise direction; on Saturday nights, the 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30 buses travel through campus in a clockwise direction.

The last UCSC Night Owl bus returning to campus leaves downtown at 2:10am and travels east to west (counter-clockwise) through the campus. The last Night Owl going downtown departs from Science Hill at 1:50am and travels west to east (clockwise) through the campus.
