UCSC Emergency Ride Home Program

TAPS supports transportation alternatives and offers an Emergency Ride Home program for those UCSC employees who chose to use an alternative to driving alone at least one day a week.

Use this service if:

  • You or a family member is ill
  • You or a family member has had a crisis
  • Your boss asks you to work longer than your regular shift without sufficient notice
  • Your carpool driver had to leave early
  • Your bicycle breaks or is stolen

Participants enroll in the program by clicking here.

Once enrolled, participants who have used a transportation alternative (bus, bicycle, carpool, vanpool, or walking) may call Uber, Lyft, or the Yellow Cab company for an emergency ride only. This ride expense is then reimbursed after the ride is completed and receipt submitted. This service includes up to two reimbursable rides per year. For more information and eligibility requirements, interested UCSC staff and faculty can visit the Ecology Action website or send an email to Ecology Action.
