Purchasing Permits

There are three ways to purchase parking permits at UCSC:

Online Purchasing
Submitting a parking permit application through our website is the most convenient and efficient way to purchase a parking permit. Most quarterly and annual permits can be purchased online. Payment options include Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. Payroll deduction for most types of permits is available to employees who qualify. Students may elect to pay through their UCSC Student Account. TAPS Sales Office
All permits can be purchased at the TAPS Sales Office, located in the H Barn on the lower campus, from 7:00am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Students and employees purchasing a quarterly or annual permit can save time by completing an online parking permit application before picking up their permit at at the Sales Office. TAPS strongly encourages everyone to renew their permits online and elect to receive them via US Mail at an off-campus address in order to maintain distancing and minimize in-person contact in the TAPS Sales Office. Questions and appointment requests may be conducted over the phone, via email, or via Zoom when possible.  

You may schedule an in-person or Zoom appointment by calling the TAPS SalesOffice at (831) 459-4543 or (831) 502-7942, or by sending an email to tapssales@ucsc.edu. If permits must be picked up in person, TAPS has an outside station available. Please expect delays. 

If you are unwell or experiencing any symptoms, do not come to the TAPS Sales Office in person. 

Before coming to the TAPS Sales Office in person, please call (831) 459-4543 or (831) 502-7942 to determine whether you need to schedule an appointment. For transactions that MUST be conducted in person, please follow these distancing protocols:

  • Only two customers will be allowed inside the TAPS Sales Office at one time.
  • The line outside the office will include markers for 6 ft. separation
  • Pre-scheduled appointments will occur in a TAPS Office located in the Central Garage Building. 
  • Masks or fabric face coverings will be required when inside buildings or when interacting with people at a distance closer than 6 feet (including in-vehicle permit pick-up and other transactions conducted outside the TAPS Sales Office).
  • Increased cleaning and sanitization of high-touch areas
  • Addition of plexiglass barriers at sales windows
  • No cash or check payments. Only credit card, payroll deduction and student account payments will be accepted.


Daily parking options will be available in additional locations via ParkMobile, and parking rates will mirror those for "paper” daily permits. Previously existing ParkMobile locations will remain unchanged at this time; ParkMobile transaction fees will apply.
