Noteworthy news: To speed up the boarding process for Highway 17 Express buses 1-Ride passes can now be purchased from the ticket vending machine or from the Customer Service Booth located in the lobby of the Santa Cruz Metro Center. Purchasing a pass from these sources instead of paying the driver will help with on-time departures.
Parking Permit Requirements
During Fall Quarter Finals Week and Intersession (12/10/18 – 12/21/18, and 1/02/19 – 1/04/19)
Parking permit requirements will be enforced in campus parking lots and at parking meters and paystations, during finals week and intersession.
When in doubt check the information signs located at each paystation location and at each parking lot entrance.
Please note: The Main Entrance Kiosk and the TAPS Sales Office (parking office) will be closed from Saturday, December 22, 2018 through Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
During the Campus Closure (12/24/18 – 1/01/19)
In general, permits are not required on the main campus during the UCSC Campus Closure, with the following exceptions:
- in lots where permits are required at all times*
- in posted reserved parking spaces
- when parking attendants are present during a special event
* Permits are required at all times in parking lots marked with grey diagonal stripes on the UCSC Parking Map.
Shuttle Service Modifications
The last day of Fall quarter shuttle service is Friday, December 14th. There is no shuttle service on Saturday, December 15th and Sunday, December 16th.
Intersession Shuttle Service
Daytime only Loop service will operate on these dates:
- 12/17/18 – 12/21/18
- 1/02/19 – 1/03/19
Intersession Westside Bike Shuttle (12/17/18 – 12/21/18, and 1/02/19 – 1/04/19)
The Westside (CVS) Bike Shuttle departs CVS at 7:10am, 7:40am, 7:45am, 8:10am, 8:40am, 8:45am, 9:10am, and 9:40am.
Winter Quarter Shuttle Service
Friday, 1/04/19:
Daytime shuttle service will operate on the Intersession schedule (see above), including Intersession schedule Bike Shuttle service.
Nighttime shuttle service (Night Loop and Night Core) resumes.
Saturday, 1/05/19 – Sunday, 1/06/19:
No daytime shuttle service.
Night Loop shuttles operate every 20 minutes on the weekend schedule.
Clockwise Loops:
First run departs Barn Theater at 6:10pm
Last run Saturday departs Barn Theater at 11:30pm
Last run Sunday departs Barn Theater at 11:30pm
Counterclockwise Loops:
First run departs Main Entrance at 6:00pm
Last run Saturday departs Main Entrance at 11:20pm
Last run Sunday departs Main Entrance at 11:20pm
Night Core shuttles operate every 30 minutes from 8:00pm to 12:00am both days.
Monday, 1/07/19
Regular day and night shuttle service resumes.
Winter quarter Bike Shuttle service resumes.
Metro Bus Service Modifications
Santa Cruz Metro buses will operate on the non-school-term schedule from December 15, 2018 – January 6, 2019 with the following exceptions:
- On Monday, December 24th buses will operate on the non-school-term weekday schedule, except that last departures are at 8:00pm.
- Metro buses do not operate on Tuesday, December 25th
- Metro buses do not operate on Tuesday, January 1st
The Metro school-term service schedule resumes on Monday, January 7, 2019.
Highway 17 Express buses will operate throughout the Campus Closure. Check the operating schedules at http://scmtd.com.
